Genumedi PT Knee Brace

The Genumedi PT knee brace is new to the UK. A premium quality German brace ideal for protection of the anterior knee, the patella-femoral joint and its supporting structures. It can be used as a functional sports brace or in the active working environment for those requiring support in a stable but weak or injured joint.

This is a specialized brace for anterior knee pain and patella-femoral dysfunction ( including Hypermobile patella, Patella Lateralisation, patella-femoral mal-tracking and Chondromalacia Patella ) It can be used with taping to provide extra support or as a stand alone product.

The brace is reinforced laterally and medially with unique pelottes that activate the supporting musculature and help to normalize tracking and position of the patella.

Who Should Use This?

This brace can be used from adolescence into late middle age to support the anterior knee and patella-fomoral joint. It is a reliable lightweight sports and activity brace suitable for most sports including contact sport (rules allowing). It is not however suitable to protect against recurrent dislocation of the Patella or gross instability in the anterior knee for which specialist advice from your physiotherapist or orthopaedic surgeon is advised. More specifically it is suitable for:

How Does it Work?

The brace is reinforced antero- laterally and medially with unique pelottes that activate the supporting musculature and help to normalize tracking and position of the patella. A laterally reinforced silicone ring helps to prevent prevent lateral glide of the patella in the femoral trochlea or groove.

Individual adjustment is available via the lateral tension strap which adjusts pressure on the vastus lateralis.

Sizing and Technical Information:

The carefully manufactured materials used have achieved the German quality standard award - Oko-Tex standard 100 - and are suitable for those with sensitive skin. All braces wick moisture away from their inner surface to evaporate from the outer surface and have anti-bacterial properties to reduce odour formation.
